I am contemplating whether to introduce a proper discussion forum on my website.
If enough enthusiastic contributors express an interest, I will look to set something up.
I expect to make my forum very different to the likes of ADVFN, Twitter, Lemonfool and Stockopedia.
Right now all the great investment discussions on those other platforms are getting lost in a sea of general chatter.
And seeing great posts being ignored or overlooked is a real shame.
As such, I have become determined to celebrate the very best share ideas, analysis and insights from the private-investor community.
I am sure if I provide:
- Proper moderation*: no trolls, no abuse, no disruption;
- Investment focus: no other topics or chit-chat allowed, and;
- Modern software: no ye olde PHP code…
…then my forum can become a natural home to smart and sensible investors who wish to share their research online.
I am looking for a handful of enthusiastic contributors to kick things off — people who can initiate something reasonably substantive and sensible on a particular company or portfolio etc, to get a high-quality discussion going. At this stage I am not looking for lurkers.
So: if you feel your investment posts elsewhere have become undervalued, just get in touch using my Contact form with the subject ‘Forum’.
Together we could build a community that actually rewards the very best private-investor discussions.
